Linda and Susan

As far as sisters, they match well. I'm not a fan of either name. I can't say that I think they will ever be popular again but if they are, I think it will be a long time.
I think they are a bit too simple and mature, but they make good middle names though.
They won't be considered "cool" for another few generations yet, probably, and even then it will likely just be by chance if they are among the mid-1900s names that get a second wind.
I think they are both pretty names and they definitely do sound like sisters. (In fact I know a pair of sisters in their sixties named Linda and Susan.)
Neither one needs a nn, especially Linda. Sue makes a cute nn for Susan. I suppose Lin/Lyn or Linnie/Lynnie or even Lindy might work for Linda, but I honestly have never met a Linda who went by any other name.
