I like it's French version, (Ahn-zhel) and every time I read the name I imagine it as its French ver. Other than that, It's alright. The name angel itself is a lot better for a fictional character than a person really.

While I don't mind reasonably altered spellings of names that are originally names (for example, I like Kathryn, Katherine, and Catherine), I feel like word names look best as the original spelling. I've met two Grayces and a Chace in my life, and their names have always bothered me.

Not a fan. Looks like it's being forced to be different for no reason.

Unnecessary, overly elaborate, and ugly

When a name is an actual word, alternate spellings can look a bit… illiterate. Especially if that respelling would technically change the pronunciation.

I don't like it

I'd expect it to be pronounced ahn-zhel because of the French-looking spelling. I would certainly not expect it to sound like 'angel'. Not that Angelle is a French word, to my knowledge, but that's unlikely to stop people.

I have difficulty with the concept of gender-specific angels. Yes, Michael and Gabriel and the lads ... but what do they need gender for? Sex? I have great difficulty with that too. And in most popular art - cards etc - angels are more likely to look feminine. Presumably those white robes affect people's perceptions. But I don't think that inventing Angelle when Angela exists is a particularly useful move.

I think it's rare in my opinion but okay.
