Had a customer over the phone today at work who’s name was Lawie pr Loy-EE. I’m not a fan but WDYT?
The customer spelt out their name for me.

Not a fan! My dad had a step-grandmother who was named Floy (flo-ee) and Lawie reminds me of that.
Weird! I don't know how that pronunciation can fit that spelling - I could see it as what someone who can't pronounce the letter R might produce instead of Laurie, or what someone with a hazy knowledge of French might use instead of Louis.
