Best suited version of Elizabeth for an Australian.
Please offer honest opinions. I have been struggling to decide for months.
So I like Elise, Elisa, Alyse, Lisa.1. Is Elisa too Italian, and likely to get questioned if I am actually Italian?
2. Is Elise too 'upper class' sounding? Or a pretty standard name these days?
3. Would Alyse get constantly pronounced as Alice?
4. Is Lisa too plain or common? I'd prefer this being my nickname, not Ellie, Ella etc
So if it helps to visualize, I have dyed blonde hair and blue eyes, plus quite fair skin.

I suggest Eliška. This is great name. With the middle name:
Eliška Imogen
Eliška Ingrid
Eliška Brigid
Eliška Boann
Eliška Ceres - the sound is too much Italian.

I think Elisa is pretty, it's not too foreign sounding, though
Elise is classy and pretty, but it's not 'snobby' sounding.
Alyse may get confused for Alice, but it's an interesting take on it
Lisa is a little common, but it's still nice nonethelessI like Elise and Alyse the best.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a young Elisa in Australia (e.g. under 18); but yes I'd expect her to come from the eastern or southern European origin communities.Elise is unremarkable for an Australian under 40.Alyse would get pronounced like Elise rather than Alice, even though it is a variation of Alice not Elizabeth. I'd be surprised to see it on an Australian older than 25.Lisa is pretty but common. I'd be surprised to see it on an Australian younger than 25.Eliza was the most common stand-alone nickname for Elizabeth in the baby name stats for most of the 90s.

It might help if you clicked on Names (on the dark-blue ribbon) and then on Popularity. You'll find the statistics available for Australia, so you can find out exactly which versions are in use and which are the most popular, and therefore presumably the most suitable.

1. Nope. It would probably get used as a misspelling of Alyssa.
2. Elise is definitely not upper class here. Very common.
3. Alyse would often be pronounced like Elise
5. Lisa is very middle aged or older. A young Lisa is unusual.
Libby is probably the most common nickname for Elizabeth here.

I like all those names, none not too Italian or upper class or problems with Alice, and Lisa isn't too plain or common
