Emily is an exceedingly good name. I can perfectly understand it's popularity and why it remains common still to this day. It stands the test of time, similar to other classic names that often get used. They're practical and sensible. Then again, I did grow up with a sister named this, spelling and all. So it isn't a name I would really be able to consider-certainly not for a first. .Even if her name wasn't this and was something completely different, I probably still wouldn't use it. As much as I think Emily is a nice name, I do prefer other names over it.
