Juniper
For a book character...does Juniper Mason sound nice for a kind, sweet 7-year-old girl born 2011 in New Zealand who does Horse Riding competitively? She is the main character's little cousin.

People really hate Juniper for some reason, in my experience. I think it's... ok. I don't hate it.
I dislike Mason, my brain confuses it with Manson and so I feels it's very... not wholesome.

I like it but I have a hard seeing it on a real person. I think it's better for a pet. It's ok for a book character too though.

Yeah, it does. Juniper seems like a name that parents would use then. I like it.

I think it suits her well. It's a good name for a cheerful or flower-loving person. I like June as a nickname, but not Junie.

I wouldn't use it; no idea what happens in New Zealand, but my associations are with fashionable flower names, currently, and the Donovan song Jennifer Juniper which was late 1960s. It could shorten to June, which I like even less.
