After a while, reading both the boy and the girl celeb lists, my eyes got desperately tired. And I found myself longing for time travel to become a reality, so I could experience a world where people didn't think that naming a child Zaelyn Journey, Sterling Skye, Row Renggli and Emma Sang is in any way pleasant. And that's just a few, and strictly girls only, for reasons of space. So I went to the top 20 girl names in the US in 1940, and found that I could live quite contentedly with almost any of them. This is the list:
Mary; Barbara; Patricia; Judith; Betty; Carol; Nancy; Linda; Shirley; Sandra; Margaret; Dorothy; Joyce; Joan; Carolyn; Judy; Sharon; Helen; Janet; Elizabeth

There are oddities: Betty and Elizabeth, Judith and Judy, Carol and Carolyn. And I don't like Joyce and Sharon. But, in generaal, sanity prevails. This millennium has got a lot to answer for; or perhaps I'm just sleep-deprived?
