Alys
What do you think of Alys? I've seen some comments that mistake it for a "kreatyve" spelling of Alice, but it's actually a very old spelling and I like the medieval vibes that it has.*******************Personal Name List:https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/187938Guilty Pleasure Name List:https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/187938/140061

Regardless of how it's spelled, I don't understand the appeal most people seem to have toward Alice. Although, I like Alys better than Alice.

I'm with you, I like the strange antique inheritance it has. If it was a modern invention it would be nonsensical and annoying, but since it's handed down from the days when "sense" in the language was still being formed, it's sort of lustrous and strange and wonderful.

I adore Alys, love the medieval vibes as well. I like it more than Alice. However I'd still never use it because I know it would get spelled wrong all the time.

I like it. I prefer it to Alice aesthetically.

I had a colleague from the UK once whose name was Alys. She was an excellent Maths teacher and a delightful person; I thought that Alys suited her much better than Alice would have. Different vibe, but hard to pin down. I would use Alice for the Wonderland connection.

I like it. I dislike Alice a lot, but Alys seems really appealing. I can't totally love it though, because it still sounds exactly like Alice... I need to know that it is Alys, to like it. Weird.

I love this spelling and actually prefer it to Alice. (I also like the Welsh spelling, Alis.) It's pretty high on my list, actually.
