Monroe How are they perceived in Scotland? And are they popular where you live?I personally like:
- Glenna: also Glenn is stunning. Nature-themed and short.
- Marsaili: it is a sweet character in 'Outlander'. I like its sound as well.
- Jock is particular. I don't like it with Jack but with 'joke' or 'joker'. Only nickname in any case.
- Roy: I like both meanings (the Irish one and the regal one).
- I prefer Fearchar over Farquhar.
- Tavish I like this form very much.
- Conall: so fascinating! So Celtic!Personal Name Lists https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/125456

I like Roy (this was my grandpa's name, but in his case it was short for LeRoy), Munro, Tavish, Conall, Marsaili, Sheona and Sine (I prefer the original spellings Seònaid and Sìneag).

Masculine
Heckie - awful! But I like Hector very much.
Jock - nn only; more interesting than Jack.
Roy - love it; family name.
Munro - looks awful; Monroe would be better but only if it's a family ln; no clue why it's also unisex, though Scottish people do use family lns as given names, more than other British people.
Ualan - no clue how to pronounce it. Fun to look at!
Farquhar - strictly ln only, and pronunciation could be tricky. I knew a family who pronounced it Far-Kwar.
Angus - love it; also perfect for a Scottish terrier.
Tavish - strictly Scottish only; and OK for them.
Aulay - also strictly Scottish
Ramsay - yet again, strictly Scottish
Daividh - I'm guessing it sounds like Davy. Looks wonderful, but I prefer David.
Conall - quite good; seems more Irish than Scottish though.Feminine
Kirstin - dated; I'm more used to Kirsteen
Peigi - no clue what it sounds like; I do like Peggy, and I've seen it used as an independent name.
Glenna - awful, like a sloppy pronunciation of Glenda (which I don't enjoy either).
Mysie - I'll stay with Maisie, thanks.
Marsaili - Looks as if the bearer comes from Marseilles. I far prefer Marjorie.
Sheona - prefer either Shona or Seonaid. This spelling is confusing.
Sine - straight out of a maths textbook!

I like Ramsay and Conall from the boys list, though Ramsay does remind me of Gordon Ramsay. I’ve liked Angus since I looked after a cat with that name. I like Peigi, Mysie and Marsaili from the girls list.
