I prefer Andrea for a girl to Andrew for a boy. In Italian, Andrea does not sound like the English female version of Andrew: I like the Italian sound, but it wouldn't work outside an Italian environment. And I don't like Andrea (f) nearly enough to consider using it: it's OK, but very many names seem better to me.
