It's nice. The spelling might not be the most intuitive and the style is in keeping with 2000s trends, but there is nothing really wrong with it. It has a fantasy feel, which is fun, and it makes me think of a light blue sky.

I really like it! Its a great Irish name, but it does look like a creative spelling of Kaylin and would be pronounced exactly like it in English. Unfortunately it sounds really girly. On a girl, it would seem like Kaylin but More Creative, I guess, which was inspired by Kaitlyn which was inspired by Caitlin. It does look trendy. But the name is much older than that and deserves more love. It might catch popular for girls, and it'll lose unisex value in the US, if people even dared name a boy that in the US. Unisex names are really popular here - especially for girls. And then masculine usage gets buried alive.

It's OK (would be a great choice if you were looking for an Irish name to use that sounded unisex in the US and liked the meaning of "slender"), though I prefer other Irish names or Caelum.

I love it. I have a soft spot for "ae" pronounced "eɪ" and 2 syllable boys names ending in "ən", even though they're both trendy. Caelan sounds very practical but also looks like it wouldn't be out of place in a fantasy book.

Right around the time that -ayden names peaked, -aylen names were right behind them. For that reason they feel a little dated now. Caelan is saved a bit because it’s not a made-up collection of sounds. It’s got history and meaning. But it does feel a bit tired, just as naming trends go.

Love it, and every Caelan I've taught has been lovely

I can't see the point. Maybe becuse I'm not Irish, but that's a valid reason! And, it looks like a variation of Michaela, female therefore. Some people love unisex, others not; I don't like it anyway.
