What do you think about my English name?
Hi, fellows here. I'm a high school student from Asia and I'm currently working on my new ID card in the UK. I have an English given name Florence, a miidle name that comes from my original name Kayan, and my last name is Chan. I hope you can make some comment on my idea, which is like "Florence Kaia Chan". Would that sound wierd? Thanks!!

Thank you so much for all the replies!!!
I think I've decided to go by Florence Keyan Chan. You all really helped and encouraged me!
Thanks again for these warm, great suggestions!

No problem. And good luck!
I like the combination of Florence Kaia. But I do think its pitiful that some people have to change their original names when they travel somewhere. People should just learn how to pronounce them correctly. Its not like you're learning a new language.
I think Kayan is very pretty. You should keep it if you really want to. You could even go for Kayan Florence instead of Florence Kaia. But either way, I think you'll be somewhat happy.

I really really super like it. VERY pretty.
Florence is a little old-fashioned and a little bit new-fashioned - it's kind of cutting-edge on its way back into fashion. I love balancing it with Kaia, which feels more modern and international yet also very pretty.

None of y'all know how OP feels about the name change; she might be totally pumped.
I like your idea, and if you want to go by it you certainly can.
I do think, as well as posters below, that you would be alright going by Kayan. I read a piece once that argued if people in the English speaking West can learn how to pronounce Arnold Schwarzenegger, they should be capable of learning African and Asian names.
But, it is your decision! If you like the idea of going by Florence, that's lovely too.

My best advice would be to pick a name that still feels like yourself as much as possible so it isn't uncomfortable using it, so review names based in that criteria & not just what seems pretty or fashionable because you're going to have to go by it for a while presumably.
Florence is pretty, & I agree with the previous reply: it's a shame you can't just go by your own name, especially because Kayan is relatively easy. Good luck.

It's very pretty and doesn't sound weird, though I do think it's sad that people from some countries have to go by a different name in order to be accepted in some circumstances.
I like it a lot. And I hope you'll be very happy using it.
I think your English name sounds great! Florence is a very fashionable name right now.
Very pretty.
Sorry, a middle name, Kayan, it sounds like "kaia".
