Cardea
I’ve just heard of Cardea, goddess of door hinges and thresholds. I wouldn’t use it, but I think a goddess is door hinges is pretty funny and that makes the name appeal to me. I also like Cariad, which is Welsh for “love” (I think) and is verbally and visually similar.
So, what do you think of Cardea? Are there any little known and kind of funny mythology names you like?
Thanks! :)

All things considered, I like it. I love the idea of a little girl saying she was named after the goddess of door hinges. Is it pronounced car-DAY-a?
Yes, I think it is!
I think it's really sweet and bizarre.
Sweet and bizarre is a great combination :)
I just found out about Cardea on a show today, and was wondering about it as a name. I think it has an attractive sound, and I like it in theory, but I wonder if people's first thoughts would be cardio. Might have to look up some lesser known mythology names. There are probably some gems out there.
My sense is that we both found out about it from the same show! Exercise was even referenced :) I do think a lot of people would think of cardio, which isn’t the worst thing I guess!
Don't like it at all
Goddess of hinges is funny, and goddess of thresholds is kind of metal. Makes me think of some otherworldly fae shenanigans. I honestly really like it, even if it does sound like "cardio."
Goddess of motorised transport? If January, why not Cardea I suppose, but it does sound like the start of a heart attack.
I second that it reminds me of heart attack. Sister would be names Cornea.
I'd presume it's prn car-dee-ah.
