Re: Philip, Alonzo & Kenneth "Kenny"
in reply to a message by Ani
They would actually work as a subset, though!
I like Alonzo, but I prefer Alonso, and then Alfonso is the best.
Phillip is a good, respectable name. I'm not really a fan of Phil as a nickname either. Its actually the most reasonable nickname for it. But I like Philly (that's what they call Philadelphia for short, I think it sounds cheery). And I adore Pip or Peppe.
I have mixed feelings for Kenneth. I don't like names ending in -th generally. They feel weird on my tongue. I prefer Ken. Kenny is a cute nickname for either, or for Kendall, McKinkey, etc.
I'm not sure if I like Kenny as standalone name. If it was more common, perhaps it would not seem odd to me. It seems that the usage of names make them feel normal or strange to us.https://www.behindthename.com/polls/356294
