Peter vs. David
Which one would you choose for a son, and why? What would you use as a middle name, and what would you name a brother and sister? **After supposedly dying on January 30, 2007 after eating tainted pancakes, she returned several times as an angel and was revealed to be alive on May 17, 2011. )**

Peter, it still feels fresh, while David is old and boring.I feel like Peter needs two middles, so:
Peter Kenneth IsaacSiblings:
Thomas Wesley Vincent
Lucy Violet Magdalene

I'd go with Peter. It's less common than David and, in my opinion, sounds warmer and friendlier.Peter Frederick or Peter Gilbert maybe?Sister: Anna Frances
Brother: ??? Having trouble deciding on this one, lol.

Peter, because it's a name I've simply always loved.

Well, I suppose it would be David, since it’s a family name. It’s used in more languages than Peter is too, not including variants, which is nice. David Nathaniel, Arthur Benedict, and Elizabeth Cecilia. I feel like if you use anything fancy with David it looks like you know it’s kind of boring so you’re trying to dress it up more, so I went with Nathaniel.

I would use David. Where I grew up, “Peter” is fairly common slang for the male appendage.

I would choose Peter. It is classic, has lots of different associations, and I haven't met very many men named Peter. I know lots of men named David, and I strongly associate it with the Biblical character. Peter Emrys - The combo that I'm most likely to use.
Peter Cadfael
Peter Vedran
Peter Veremund
Peter Firdaus
Peter Gerard

I love Peter Emrys and Peter Cadfael! Peter Cadfael Emrys would be a wonderful combo too.

Hi !!!I personally would choose David pronounced dah-VEED. In any case I would use it as middle name, not as first name.

Although Peter is a family name, I'd choose David.

As the happy mother of a Peter David Alastair, I can speak with authority: my birth surname was Davies, so I wanted to use David - also the name of an uncle and a good friend's nice husband. But, our ln ends in -d and has two syllables, so David wouldn't have been the best choice. Peter, after another good friend and because he shared a birthday with the late Peter Sellars (whom I loved in the Goon Show but didn't care about on screen, one way or another), worked better. Also, my friend Peter's aunt had advised me to give my children three names - Peter himself has three - so that made it pretty easy. Alastair: a good friend of mine, married to a good friend, and another one had been DH's closest friend since their schooldays. Brother: Ian and/or William; sister: Caroline and/or Beatrice.

Funny, was recently thinking I'd prefer Patrick to Peter if it came down to the two.

Peter, 100% -- it has way more personality than David.Peter Anselm, Cosmo Frederick, and Ianthe Millicent

They're both nice names! But I've always liked David more. I used to think that Peter was bland and overused - every character on TV was a Peter. But David sounds better and is easier to say. I've never heard an American say Pee-tur before. It becomes Pee-dur. But David doesn't change!

Peter! I love it. You know my last name, though. It would sound ridiculous with Peter. Otherwise I'd have used it. Peter Alden Jane Penelope and Jules Henry
