Elodie 8/10: I do like this name, but it also seems too close to Melody. I think this is a situation where the Starbucks barista will put “Melody” on the cup, or Elodie would have to spell it out for everyone (I could see people spelling it Elody). If that doesn’t bother you, go for it.
Seraphina 5/10 - the name meaning is cool. I can’t place my finger on why I’m not loving it.
Lavinia 7/10 - cute vintage name. Sounds delicate.
Genevieve 10/10 - this is a name I’ve recently come to love. I think people might struggle with spelling it, but I love the full name, and I don’t hate the nickname possibilities either.
Delphinia 1/10 - this is a mouthful and the meanings are either womb, dolphin, or the city of Delphi.
Romilda 1/10 - worked for a character in Harry Potter but I picture an older woman. To me it doesn’t have the same appeal as some of the other more vintage names.
Astrid 6/10 - I became aware of this name after reading a book. I like it, but I think depending on where you are from it will sound like “ass-trid” and that makes it sound less pretty.
Ingrid 4/10 - I know an Ingrid, and the name suits her but it does sound a bit harsh to me.
Daphne 10/10 - I love this name, even though I’m actually so so about the meaning. I can see someone’s comment that it sounds like “daffy” but I think Daffy Duck is less significant than in the past so it’s a non issue.
Diana 8/10 - I like this name a lot, like the association with the goddess. I never questioned that princess dianas nickname was sometimes “Di” but now that someone pointed that out I guess it is weird that a nickname would sound like “die.” Regardless I think this is a solid name and I like it.
Claudia 1/10 - seems a bit aged to me.
Ivy 10/10 - love nature names. I think this is a cute name.
Serena 7/10 - pretty name and the meaning is nice and gentle.
Mira 7/10 - pretty. I am pronouncing “mee-rah” in my head. Some might pronounce “my-rah.”
Kira 7/10 - same as above.
Tabitha 1/10 - seems stuck up.
Lyra 8/10 - pretty
Belle 7/10 - I see this as a nickname though and prefer to use it as such. I don’t like using names as proper names that are used as nicknames.
Isabelle 10/10 - love this name and prefer it to Isabella
Annabelle 7/10 - I work with an Anabel and totally respect her so I prefer that spelling as a result (she is Latina), but I do love this name.
Elisabeth 10/10 - classic, elegant, beautiful. Endless nickname possibilities. I wouldn’t use on my own child for a few reasons but I love it.
Primrose 4/10 - I almost like it but it sounds a bit too posh for me.
Rosetta 2/10 - stone. I would pick another “Rose” name before this.
Vada 1/10 - sounds like a Bostonian trying to say “Vader,” but it’s possible I watch too much Star Wars.
Georgiana 3/10 - I prefer Georgia. This seems a mouthful.
Juliana 7/10 - I prefer Julia but this is a pretty name
Lavender 5/10 - this might be a name I warm up to in time but for now I don’t love it. Neither do I hate it though.
Lilac 3/10 - I don’t know why some flower names have become popular and mainstream and others haven’t. Perhaps this name is a victim of me not being used to hearing it and therefore I don’t like it as a name. Not sure. I do love Lila as a name though.
Violet 9/10 - I like this name. Feminine and pretty.
Hyacinth 1/10 - too complicated.
