Love this name, obviously, as it’s DS#2’s fn! We had Jethro and Moses on our list for DS2 and when he was born, it was clear he was Jethro, it just seemed to suit him so well. The meaning of abundance is something we liked too and my Jethro certainly brings an abundance of everything! We have met one other Jethro, which was surprising and cool, as the name is not common at all here in Australia. You do get people commenting about The Beverly Hillbillies and that doesn’t bother me, because I like so many names from that show, but haven’t ever seen a full episode.

I decided recently that I like Jethro. It seems like Geoffrey or Milo or Seth but packs more of a punch, or, it's jollier. I think it is still associated with hillbillies and will be for a while, but you've just gotta embrace that.

I think Jethro is very cool, but in the United States would seem a little out of place outside of the South. It's a very... "heartland" name. There's a reason it was chosen for the main character on NCIS.

I really like this name. Don't like the fact its biblical, though the meaning isn't anything directly about God at least. The one issue I have with it that is preventing me from even consideration is that it's tied with Jethro Bodine from The Beverly Hillbillies. He's cute, but insanely stupid. Normally, I don't put too much stock into pop culture names, but it will be my immediate family who will take the piss quite a lot as I grew up with the series. I've never met somebody else my age who has, however, so the problem only lies with my immediate family. Perhaps if it was used more normally in the UK, it would help xD7 / 10. Much better than Jeffrey / Geoffrey. Might be a nice middle. Biblical connection pulls it back some

Super cool name! Sounds modern and fun even though it's Biblical. It was off my radar until recently, when I saw it somewhere, looked it up, and began to love it. The combination of sounds is so pleasing to me. Jet might be a nice nickname.*
