Gilbert, as in Gilbert and Sullivan, appeals to me greatly: it's a surname of course, in his case. Otherwise, it's very Anne of Green Gables. Giltbert would be OK in a (scholarly) historical novel. Jeltje is fine in the Netherlands; female, of course.I like Gareth, Gavin and Gwilym; for a girl, only Georgina really. And then I'd shorten it to sound like Jean, so there doesn't seem to be much point.

I'm not really feeling Gilbert, sorry. It feels too much like a cat name to be human. It's a cute cat name thoughMy favorite G names are Genevieve, Georgiana, Georgetta, Gianna, Grace, Graziella, Graziana, Ginger, Giselle, Giovanni, Giles, Galileo, Garrison, Gregorio

maybe even Gillian,

Gilbert is one of my favourite male names. I've never heard of Giltbert, and I don't like the 'tb' blend.
Jeltje is a family name. I think it's pretty.

Gertrude
Geraldine
Gretchen
Guinevere
