Barbara
So yesterday there was a little girl in an old movie named Barbara. I always despised Barbara. I thought it was so ugly and it was always odd to me how anyone managed to create such a long name out of just three repeating letters. But I have a good friend named Barbara. And it was kind of cute on the little girl.Only problem, the nicknames. Barbie and Barb or Babsi or Bara just don't work for me. I also dislike Barbra. But Barbara is sort of cool, right? Thoughts? Please rate my list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/6232

I rather like it, I know it’s considered very dated in the English speaking world.

Barbara's totally cool. I think of Barbara Stanwyck and the saint. My favorite nicknames are Bara and Babe.

If my name was Barbara I'd go by B (Bee or Bea?) or Bobbi.Barbara Zoe "Bobbi"
Barbara Lucy "Bobbi"
Barbara Cleo "Bobbi"
Barbara Lily "Bobbi"I'd happily be a Bea or Bobbi.

I think it sounds very dated, although that said I do like the (dated) nicknames Babs & Babette. I dislike the meaning too (foreign/stranger)

I like it, but I sometimes find it way dated. However, I might use it. It isn't on my PNL, nonetheless it's a nice name.On another note, Babette is the only nickname I like. Also Bibi, but the latter sounds/looks rather cutesy.

There is also Babs and BabetteBut no it's not really one of the old lady names I'm participating into it still has too much elderly vibes to be usable yet imo.
