I really like it (because of a character I love), but I hate the nickname Rob and could therefor never use it as a first name. I do love the nickname Bobby.

I do like that it’s a classic, but I’ve always found it very bloated-feeling and unpleasant to say in my accent. “Ob” and “urt” sound kind if gross when I say it.

It's a family name, going back generations. I've always liked it: I remember an elderly great-uncle Bob, who was wonderful. And my cousin Robin has a younger-sounding variant. I would use Robin because it sounds better with our ln.
