It's grown on me a bit because of His Dark Materials- I don't love it but I don't hate it either. It has a bit of a quirky old-fashioned charm, and Hettie is cute. I don't see it becoming trendy anytime soon.

I don't mind Hettie, but I don't think Hester needs a nn. I find Hester unpleasantly hissy; prefer Esther, and greatly prefer Stella.Hester Jane is OK. So are Heather Jane and Helen Jane, both of which I prefer.

I like this name a lot. I don't know why people think Esther is nice but the H makes it ugly. I disagree. It reminds me of the character from Mortal Engines.

I don’t like it. All I can think of is Hester Prynne the main character of The Scarlet Letter.
Esther is pretty.

Much prefer Esther, Hester is way too “Scarlet Letter.” Hettie is awful.

Hester is on my ugly list, and I really like it. It stands out like a canker sore. I have no idea if it will be trending. I'm bad at things like that.Hester Jane is lovely.Hettie is adorable, and I wish I heard it more often. I'm so tired of Abby, Maddie, and Addie. Hettie needs to join the chat.

I adore Hester! It's staid but not sour or dull. Hester Jane is lovely -- Jane adds some spangle to Hester.Hettie is an adorable nickname.
