Elka
What do you guys think of the name Elka? I personally love it but a lot of people I know say they it’s not very nice.

Don't like it
The name of the doomed heroine in a German novel I had to read at school, but she was actually Elke, not Elka. And in Afrikaans, Elke means 'each' or 'every', which didn't help. I don't mind it at all, in fact it's pretty, but it's too far removed from English for me to use.

I work with a customer named Elke Pannecoeck..
It reminds me of the deer which gives it a nature vibe. I think the "ka" ending is a bit rough and that's what other people find off-putting. Seeing the name I'd presume it's Scandinavian and that the parents are from Sweden/Danmark/Norway. Or perhaps Alaskan now that I think of it.
I really like it. It has a very appealing, gentle, lilting sound to it. Feels quite naturey too, reminds me of ice or the countryside.
This is such a perfect description. The exact vibe I get.
I also love Elke.
