Jessica. It seems less dated to me than Jennifer, though I don't particularly like either of them.

Jennifer is used enough in my family that I would pick Jessica just to eliminate confusion.I like both names.

By default..I'd have to name her Jennifer since my name is Jessica.

JessicaJessica. Sounds less harsh. Jennifer isn’t horrible though. I don’t care for either though.

I like them both, but I've liked Jennifer more and for longer.

JenniferIt comes from Guinevere which makes me like it a bit more.

Jessica, Jennifer is even more dated.

Jennifer I knew far too many Jessica’s growing up.

JessicaI like it and can't say the same of Jennifer. No particular reason. Or I guess Jennifer might sound a bit plastic to me, like I imagine a barbie (not for lack of familiarity - this is despite having met many personable Jennifers), while Jessica probably reminds me of names like Jesse and Erica, which I generally get more wholesome/likable vibes from.I do like Jen and Jenny but not any more than Jess or Jessie, so.

JessicaIt's prettier, Shakespearean, and I prefer Jess to Jen /Jenny. I know you said no nicknames but in the real world, even if you don't like the nickname, you have to consider someone would use it.

JessicaJenny (kind of) appeals to me, but Jennifer does not.
So, as a full name, Jessica sounds better.

JenniferJessica has a trashy reputation here.

Ehhh. Jessica is a pretty name and I like its connections to Dune, but it's a "bully" name to me as well. Jess is also cute, but imagining myself with a Jessica for a daughter gives me the willies.I wouldn't be super happy about it but I guess I'd use Jennifer. One of my oldest and best friends is a Jennifer so I think of her first, and it gives the name some warmth and personality. A Jennifer just sounds like a nicer person than a Jessica (to me). She'd have to have a really weird or sweet middle name to make up for it. Maybe something starting with an N so it becomes "Jennifer N____" and I would call her "Jennifern" sometimes. Jennifer Nancy maybe? Cuuute.

I like Jennifer and I’m sad it’s still considered so dated because I would totally use it otherwise. So I would choose Jennifer.Jessica is way too popular here.

There's a song I like called Jennyfer, and I cannot stop myself from singing 'JENNYFEEEERR' everytime I hear the name, so for the sanity of the kid it has to be Jessica. My godmum's called Jessica, so there's that too.

Jessica ...I actually would use this if I didn't have a good friend named Jessica. I don't like the name Jennifer at all, and anyway, I have a cousin named Jennifer.

I’d probably go with Jessica, mainly because I’m a fan of Jessica Jones. But I really dislike both names.

Jennifer. Jessica is just so, ugh, I don't know. It's like Britney, bubbly and airheaded.

Jessica. At least it's Shakespearean. Plus, the "-fer" ending is not very appealing to me.

Jessica. It's not the worst. I vastly prefer it to Jennifer though.

Jessica, though I really dislike both, nickname or not (though a nickname would make it better; I’d definitely use Jessie). I’m just really turned off by the -fer ending in Jennifer, and Jessica seems less dated.
