It's alright. I don't dislike it, but I don't love it either.
It sounds ugly and looks misspelled. Curtis is better.

My good friend named her kid this (with slight spelling variation) almost a year ago. I was so surprised, it seems like such a forgettable, dated name, and she's a super colourful person. Maybe she's just ahead of the style curve and mild-mannered names from the 60's/80's are gonna be the next big thing.
I'm not a huge fan, it seems very ho-hum. Curtis is more harmless in its blandness - Kurtis seems much more 80s/90s and like more of a jerk. Which is ironic, considering the meaning.
