Definitely better than Charlie on a girl and it’s ugly spelling variants like Charli, Charlee, or Charleigh. (Especially Charlee)

The name itself I actually think is really pretty. Along with Marlene and Darlene. I really like -lene ending names.

My grandmothers name was Charlayn, and i much prefer that! She went by Charly when she was young

Really, really not a fan. In fact I'd go so far as to call this name ugly.

I'm not a big fan of the 'lene' ending though. It's harsh on my ears for the most part, like nails on a chalkboard.

Of the -lene names it's not one of my faves, but I admire its toughness. I would not mess with a Charlene, no ma'am.
