My father is called Noel Patrick. He goes by Patrick a fair bit in this country, mainly because his name is mis-pronounced so much! He pronounces it the French way. I HATE it was people say Nole like it rhymes with hole, it just grates right across my nerves. Yuck.

I actually quite like it as a name, but I do prefer Noelle. I might use Noelle to honour him one day.

In Ireland he always goes by Noel because there are so many people in my family called Patrick.
