This is probably the only time I prefer an -ien spelling to an -ian for a boy, but something about the Damian spelling looks... wrong. It's too bulky. I think Damien is much smoother written out.
Unfortunately, that's the spelling used in both The Exorcist (Father Damien Karras) and The Omen (Damien Thorn); so I feel like Damien gets a "demonic" reputation due to horror movies. :-(
I like the name itself.

I always used to prefer Damian: Peter Damian was the first usage of it I ever saw. And then, surprisingly, two of my gay friends - in different countries and of very different ages - suddenly had partners named Damien. And I am so grateful to those men for loving my friends that I've totally warmed up to their spelling! Though, if I were to use the name, I'd still stay with Damian.
Not good; gives me demonic child or badboy vibes. Damien is a little better.
I used to not be big on it because of The Omen. I felt like maybe it had been ruined. Then I started seeing more little Damians, and then I started reading more Batman comics and learned Bruce Wayne's son, the newest Robin, was named Damian and I wound up liking the character. Basically it grew on me. I actually just recently added it to my PNL.
So, yeah, I like it.
