I was thinking about this name the other day. It's an interesting name because it's so, so boring, yet I don't know if I know any Johns! I know lots of Jons, but not John. It's kind of handsome in a way, it's simple and resonant. I love the nn Johnny. And if I used it I could say it's in honour of me because both my nickname and John are slang words for toilet in different cultures, lol! Yeah, that earns it some personality points in my mind. If you say it over and over and over again, it starts to lose its boringess and becomes alien and fascinating. John is like the spoon of names.

I really like John a lot, and I'm glad that it's lost popularity because that means it should be in line for scarcity value.

It’s about as traditional as you can get with a boy name and while it’s a fine name, it’s quite boring at the same time. At my church there is a little boy, probably around 1 year old or so and his name is John. I just thought, really, there were no other names that are more interesting that you could have used?! :)

It’s not very remarkable but I think that actually makes it cool. It’s not super old or super modern. It’s not too stuffy or too lax. John is just a short, handsome name. He could be a rockstar or a doctor or a lawyer or.... you get the point lol. One of the few names that I think can and will always be around, and for good reason.

It's almost a perfect male name. I love this name. It's handsome. It's soft but solid.

It's bland and lacking in character for me. Most Johns I know (in their 20s-30s) stray to the more obnoxious side.

Oops meant to reply to OPI love it. It is the name of my brother, my father, my 2x and 3x great grandfather’s.Every generation of my family going back to the 1790s has a John in it but some of them were known as Ian or Iain which is Gaelic for John.
