I like Willa Dean or Willow Dean much better. You could make it one word like you did with Williemae
Williemae could have caught up on gossip with M'Lynn and Clairee while getting her hair done at Truvy's beauty parlor. Steel Magnolias.

No.The name isn’t awful though.

Where I live, it's unimaginable. Deep South USA, possibly a minor character in a novel trying, unsuccessfully, to emulate Faulkner?

Don't like it

It's ok, not the worst.Still, I prefer Wilhelmina.

I think it’s okay. I think having a first name like Wilhelmina or Willa or Willow with Mae as the middle name, and then using Williemae as a nn or family name, it would be really cute imo!

I immediately think of Willie Mays (baseball hall of famer).
Probably nobody else thinks of that ... hahAnyway it's not awful, but not my style at all.

say hey, Williemae! You're not the only one.
It has a very Depression-era vibe to it also.

I initially read it as William. It'd be better if it was Willie-Mae.It's cute I guess and I don't hate it, but it's certainly not for me

For one, people are always going to misread it as William. For two, it's disgustingly cutesy.
