Pooka (For a dog)
WDYT of Pooka for a dog?
And does it fit more for a male or female?
Or do you prefer the spelling Púca, Puca or Puka?
~~~
I personally love this name (but only for a pet) for two reasons.
1. It’s the name of the dog in the movie “Anastasia”.
2. It also makes me think of the creature from Celtic folklore (the Púca) and I’ve always been interested in folklores & the supernatural.
I thought that Petrova was the worst Russian-ish name, invented by foreign authors. But Pooka is much worse. It sound like "Farta" in Russian.
Sorry, but I can't take this name seriously.
I used to call my dog Piper Pooka as a nickname. I love it, and I love Anastasia. I've seen it once on a boy dog. I like Pooka or Puka / Puca.
Very cute. I love Anastasia too, go for it!
Well, for a dog, I think Pooka would best fit a male. It has the same vibe as Luca. If it's only for a dog, then Pooka is the best spelling.
