Loris
Is a name I’ve just come across. WDYT?

This is a surname in my family, but I also once dated someone who had an aunt named Loris.
If I try to think about it without any other associations it gives me sort of corporate-robotic vibes. I might add this to my Uncanny Valley names list. There's something appealing but also empty about Loris, it feels like a name from 1950's science fiction.

I hadn't known it was a name! Lorises are cute, fluffy little primates, so it's a definite No for me.
It seems too feminine to me, although I don't really know the pronunciation. If it was pronounced as "lo-rreez," then maybe I'd like it.
Apparently it’s also a diminutive of Lorenzo
Apologies I meant to add not reply to myself

It sounds super cute I think! Kinda retro. The monkey meaning could go either way, depending on preference.
It's a kind of monkey that has poison glands in its elbows; it licks the poison and spreads it over its fur.
No, I don't like it for a name at all.

They're more closely related to lemurs than monkeys actually. But they're cute, they have those huge eyes that always look like they're worried about something.
It's ok
I’ve never heard this name before, I really like it!
It's the name of a small nocturnal primate found in Southeast Asia. They are cute though so maybe that's not the worst association?
My first thought was the Lorax by Dr. Seuss, which was apparently inspired by the loris!
