A GP of mine. Might be a bit much for daily use, though, and it most easily shortens to Con which isn't ideal. Stan? idk
Everyone mentioning the emperor but no one mentioning John Constantine, the DC comics character, who most just call Constantine :)
Honestly he's my first thought and I'm a history nerd. The character is starting to get more popular too - he's been on cult tv shows for like a decade now, had his own animated feature films, a feature film starring Keanu Reeves, and is apparently getting a new DCU film in the next couple years... so I only see him getting more popular. He'll never be as big as like Batman or Superman, or even Aquaman, because his character tends to be darker and more adult in general so his stuff tends to be rated for adults, which I think prevents him from becoming too popular.
Anyway, I like it, I like the character, I think it's a cool name.

I really like it. Constantine is a powerful name, but it isn't boorishly so. It is more like strength under control rather than a bull in a china shop.
Edited to add: It can be a trifle nerdy but in a good way, and I can just as easily see it on multiple types of people.

A very impressive though by no means flawless Roman emperor ... that iconic sculpted head with the huge eyes is a turn-off.
I was at uni with a man who had a Greek mother and an English father: his given name was Constantine, no mn, and the ln was as mainstream Anglo as you can get: not Johnson or Taylor, but it might as well have been. He was very nice, lots of fun, and remarkably good-looking, like a rugby-playing Greek god. He was known as Con.

I like it. It's a very BIG name and probably a mouthful for an infant, which is why I like the nickname "Costa".
Please pick one posting name and stick to it
It's glorious. Very Roman, slightly militaristic, but distinguished and incredibly fun.
Don't like it
I really love it. I mean really, it's SO pretty and distinguished.
A friend just had a baby Constantine "Dean" with some weird middle name like Lyle or something. I know it's a family name for him.

It's ultra nerdy, but I kinda like it.
I like the e on the end to get an English prn like Constantin.
I don't like the nicknames though. If I were going to use a Con-name it'd be Conrad.
