I knew a kid named Clover growing up. He was eccentric.I think it's okay, but it doesn't do much for me, personally. I usually don't have a problem with names that end in -er, but that sound doesn't work for me with this name. I don't know why that is. **middle aged woman who angers easily**

maybe because it just sounds funny?I don't know why, it's a perfectly legitimate word, but as a name it's just so cartoon baby animal. Clover the Tap-dancing Bunny or something. Clover the Cow Who Didn't Want to Fly to the Moon.
