Caitlin
What are your thoughts on Caitlin?
I can't get over how pretty it is. I wouldn't use a nickname.
How dated is it, in your opinion? Does it scream 90s to you?
Are the spelling variants a problem?

I like it
I've gone on about it plenty, but I really do think it's a pretty name. If it wasn't so sticky -- so stuck to so many negative associations, I don't doubt I'd use it. It's so pretty, really. I really do see why everyone loved it so much for that period of time.
I don't see it tied to the 90s so much as I see it tied to the 80s. I see Kaitlyn tied more to the 90s.
Kaitlyn completely ruins the name, as do all other spelling interpretations.

I hate it, I’ve never found it pretty. I grew up around a lot of Caitlin’s (and various other spellings) and a lot of them were actually tomboys, which isn’t a bad thing (I was a bit of a tomboy too), but it just seems so common, bland and lackluster because of those factors I guess.
It is very 90s.

Here in the Midwestern US Caitlin and her variants is like a staple of the 90s babies. I probably know more Caitlins/Kaylynns/Katherines/Katie's than any other name tbh. In general we were really big on the K and C names here in the late 80s to late 90s so in general I don't always like them and associate them with being a product of my own generation. (Soooooo many Kelly's, Chelsea's, Kelsey, Kaileys, Kimberly's, Kristen's, Christinas etc etc etc) it really is a shame because a lot of these names are very cute they've just been done to death here and start to all sound the exact same after a while

Also from the midwest and this is spot on. My best friend is a Catherine herself (though she was born in 2000).
