I hate it for both genders.
I hate it on a girl. It’s alright fir a boy.
I think, and firmly believe, that it is only courteous to the child one is naming to give a name that has more nickname possibilities rather than less. Not Liz, but Elizabeth; not Jo, but Josephine; not Cole, but Nicola (or Nicole, but I prefer Nicola).
Super innovative and cute!
Jk. Cole is boring and drippy on a boy, and tawdry and dull on a girl, IMO

Agree

I dislike it. I just don't like the sound. For a boy or girl, it doesn't matter, I find the sound unattractive in general. I also dislike the English pronunciation of Nicole. In French it's nee-KOLL which sounds so much nicer.
Technically it could work for a girl, either as a nickname or full name. It is similar to other surname-names and names like Blake or Blaise.

Oh please....
Are you purposely trying to antagonize the people that can't stand boy names on girls at this point? Because it's starting to feel like it with the level of frequency you push this. Nichole / Nicole are fine, Cole is atrocious on a girl. Why don't you just change all of your girl favorites to Tom, Dick and Harry and call it a day? But I'm willing to bet you won't do the same thing for your boy choices and have girl names...
I apologize for being short but you're really starting to irritate me, if this was once every few weeks I wouldn't care so much but you push this practically every day.

Well damn.
Sorry for asking a question?
If my post are that much of an annoyance to you, ignore me.

You are free to ask a question but please stop asking the same one over and over and over and over again.
We all agree on the board that it’s annoying when someone posts the same name over and over again since ppl aren’t going to give a different opinion day to day.
But Ciara isn’t doing that so like.. it’s not the same post again.

Ik, I was unnecessarily curt I'm sorry
Seconded.
Just call the girl Nicole and be done with it.
Terrible
I once watched a bad made-for-TV mystery/horror movie where the main character was a woman called Cole, except it was spelled Col. At the time I thought it wasn't very nice, no matter how it was spelled. It was supposed to be a Southern story, so maybe that's the reasoning behind the choice, but it just seemed abrupt and unlikable, rather alienating, and Cole is the same for me. Very chilly, no personality, no "soul".
I guess Cole is interesting as an evolution of Nicole.
