Re: Enid, Edith or Edna?
Enid is a name that I like better in some accents than in others. It doesn't sound as nice in a Brooklyn accent as it does in Welsh.Edith is okay. It is very old fashioned. Sometimes it comes across as a bit repressed, but, at other times, I'm reminded of its medieval roots and palace intrigue. If MacBeth had an extreme prim and autocratic visiting English court lady character who secretly knew everything but just sat and embroidered while judging people, it would be Edith. I sorta like it.Edna is my least favorite. It sounds dowdy and dogeared. I do love Edna Mode's character in "The Incredibles."
