As far as my PNL goes, Lydia is a mainstay. She's never on the back burner necessarily, but neither am I rushing to have her in my Top 10. She doesn't really "wow" me enough to be head / top of the class, so to speak, but she is never objectionable or even boring. If that makes sense.I doubt I'd use Lydia myself, but I like seeing Lydia in the wild.

It's one of my favourite names. It's so lyrical and sparkling and golden and pretty.

I feel the same as you, I can’t understand why it’s not used more. It’s VERY pretty without being ostentatious. It’s recognizable and easy to deal with without being anonymous. To me it has a bright, happy, musical feeling. I would use it.

Beautiful name, I like it a lot. The meaning is very lacklustre, which is disappointing, but it’s still a lovely name. I’m actually surprised this name isn’t more popular, as it fits that feminine, flowy, longer name ending in a that we see so often for girls these days. I also enjoy Lydie, that’s cute too.

It’s my unofficial middle name (is on my birth certificate but not on documents, I use it if I need to use a middle name for some reason ). I like it. It was the name of a great aunt of mine, who I never met but who my mother loved very much.

I find it very pretty and surprisingly underused.

I love Lydia. It ticks all boxes- classic, beautiful, timeless. I think the nn Lyddie would be so cute on a little girl! The only thing for me is that I also love Lilia and can't use both as they're too similar.

I love it, though I did just remove it from my top 10. It’s still lovely.Edit: It did start to remind me of Aunt Lydia from the Handmaid’s Tale :(

I've never liked it. It's either staid or flighty, to me; there's not really a middle ground.I wonder if it's competing with Olivia or Layla? They sound kind of similar. It also reminds me of Claudia (which I prefer), and that's really dropped off.

I like Lydia but I really love the nickname Lyddie even more, maybe even as a legal name. I'm not super surprised it's falling out of fashion, given the nature of the biblical female names cycling through different sets every generation. In my particular region Lydia is a little bit dated at the moment so it makes sense to me.

I love Lydia, too. The only thing that would make me hesitate to use it is the nn Lyds. Like jar lids. Bleah.

Kind of soccer mom-y for me. Not a fan.

I like it too. Not necessarily enough to use. But I do like it. And I've never met one. I've always thought Lydia has a similar vibe to the uber popular Olivia and Sophia. But it's never been remotely that popular in my area. I wonder why not?

Exactly, it has the same rhythm. I don't love Olivia and Sophia, though. So maybe the people who love Olivia and Sophia don't love Lydia?
