WDYTO Pan?
As in the ancient Greek god of shepards? WDYT? I rather like it. It's nice and simple, with a not-so-obvious connection to mythology.

It reminds me of Pan the goatherd. I don't really like it.

Pan gave name to "panic"So I find this name a bit sinister. But I think most people would associate it with Peter Pan. And nowadays Peter Pan makes me think of Michael Jackson ... I would not like Pan for a boy, find for a pet."But it’s all right now.
I learned my lesson well.

So you got to please yourself."

Reminds me of His Dark Materials. It was the nn of Lyra's daemon, Pantalaimon (pan-tuh-LIE-mon).I think it's an interesting idea & could possibly work with a full name behind it. What about Pantaleon?
