I also like it on men, but I wouldn't use it as a non-Hispanic individual. It's pronounced quite differently in Spanish.

I prefer it on a boy. Naming a girl Angel is like naming a girl Lee in my opinion, it's not that weird but it's sure to raise a few eyebrows.

I liked this name for a while. Angel seemed more interesting than Angela. For some reason I didn't see it as trashy or stripperesque, there was something blunt and steady about it. I remember I used it as a fake name one time when some Jehovah's Witnesses came to my door, lol. I think I was 18 or something, prime Angel-loving age.

I prefer Angela now because it seems more retro, but Angel as a nickname is really nice, it has a gritty sort of film noir ring to it. I imagine someone gruff and maybe a bit tacky but kindhearted.

It seems kitschy yet not without gravitas and is so average that it'd be hard for me to dislike.

I like it, although I admittedly prefer it for a boy. It does feel a bit saccharine though, and that's coming from someone who generally loves such names. I think it sounds pretty though.

Wholly dislike it. It feels a bit like the name of an impoverished character in a Lifetime movie.
