I really liked this name (and names like it) in the 90s. I remember Gillian Anderson named her daughter Piper Maru and I thought that was so cool. But it seems a bit dated to me because of that. Although I suppose the 90s is retro now. Gah.

My new category of names: Labradoodle names.
And Piper is one of the most Labradoodly of Labradoodle names. It's the kind of name you hear and if you don't see Piper herself, you can't be sure whether it's a little girl or a dog. "I'm Piper's mom!" "We dropped Piper off at day-care."

Piper isn't very popular on this board but I find it spunky and cute. It would rarely be misspelled or mispronounced, and I think it works on all ages.
