Evangeline
Ever since watching 'Nanny McPhee' last night two things have happened.
1. My love of the name Simon has been renewed.
2. I have fallen in love with the name Evangeline.I pronounce it ee-van-jeh-leen like they do in the film and I think it's so pretty! I want to add it to my list now! So WDYTO the name Evangeline and WDYTO these combos? Evangeline Cecilia
Evangeline Matilda
Evangeline Cordelia
Evangeline Wilhelmina (using family name)
Evangeline CharlotteAre there any other combos you can think of in about this same style? Also does Evie sound like a nice nickname? Does this name need a nickname? Thanks so much, Laurie! :)

Oooh, I love Evangeline. Evie is a cute nn, but I really like Lina, although it's nice on its own as well.
I love Evangeline Matilda and Evangeline Charlotte from your list. One of my other favorites is Evangeline Sylvia.Love is the lord of the house within him and rules all the concerns of his soul- Plato

Evangeline is pretty although a little too frilly and angelic for my taste. It would be great on someone else's kid though. I like all your proposed Evangeline combos. They all sound so dignified but not in a way that would make them too heavy for a small child. I don't think Evangeline necessarily needs a nn but it seems inevitable that someone sometime will clip it to something like Ev.

I used to love the name but when I say it a few times, it just sounds ugly in my ears... :(~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I really love the name Evangeline. It's one of the most gorgeous, stunning feminine names out there. But I do think this name desperately needs a nn since it's so long. Evie is a very pretty nickname.I also loved all of your combos. Evangeline Cordelia is my favourite out of them.

My dh wanted to call Pearl Evangeline, but i said no, so we used it as a mn, Any way, whilst we were considering it we decided to use Jeannie as a nn, as i prefer this to all the Evie,s and Eva's.
I think all your combos are lovely - you have used a lot of my favourite names.Love Clara

I really like Evangeline. It has been popping up on this board more and more lately, so I'm guessing that in about 3 years it will have made the Top 1000 :)
I only knew the -line pronounciation before (knew a girl who pronounced her name this way), but I must say, that the -leen pronounciation is a lot prettier and is catching on with me, too! Please don't spell it Evangelynn (I glanced at the other post subjects and this one just jumped out at me).
All of your middle names work with Evangeline, my personal preference is Evangeline Cecilia. Using one of my favorite names ever (but I think it fits well, so ...), I'm suggesting Evangeline Susanna(h).
I'm all for names that have nice nicknames, so a huge plus for Evangeline is that you can use Evie! The Evangeline I knew went by Eva sometimes, and somehow I do think that Evangeline needs a nickname - and she will get one soorner or later, if she wants or not! People will try giving her one, because they'll just be too lazy for 4 syllables ;)
I love Simon, too, by the way :)

Thanks for your comments, I do really like Evangeline Susannah (this spelling) it is a bit long but so sweet! :)

I LOVE the name Evangeline. I pronounce it the same way that you do.Of your combos, Evangeline Cecilia is by far my favourite. I think this name does need a nn, and I also think Evie is a perfect choice. ^_^

EvangelynnJust kidding! Just wanted to get your attention. But that is how I pronounce it. eh-VAN-jeh-lynn.I completely worship this name! (Sorry, religious pun.) My potential next daughter, if she comes into being against all odds and tied tubes, may very well be Mercy Evangeline. It's #2 on the hit list.(#1 is Summer Siena)~Lillian~

Mercy Evangeline is beautiful! I adore the Mercy Ann (a family combo) but this is even prettier! Evangeline Mercy would also be rather nice! Thanks so much! :)

I too have recently fallen in love with the name Evangeline (Tho not from seeing that movie, I haven't watched it yet). Your combos are cool, my fave combo is Evangeline Claire. And I like the nn Eve better.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"Where so many hours have been spent in convincing myself that I am right, is there not some reason to fear I may be wrong?" ~Jane Austen

I was just thinking about his name too! How strange that you would bring it up. I haven't seen Nany McPhee yet but I do love this name. There is something about it that just seems so elegant and beautiful. My favorite combos of yours are Evangeline Cecilia & Evangeline Wilhelmina. ~Arie~

I fell in love with this the other day! However, I would prefer a shorter name in the MN spot. Evangeline Mary is all I can think of right now, perhaps more later.
