I love Fern's charming frumpiness - derived from the fact that the strongest vowel sound is, basically, a schwa. Yet it's not a forgettable name by any means. I really liked Fern as a little girl, but then I didn't think about it for a long time. Now it's in my Top 10! The plants are also really cool. :-)
