There is something about it that leaves me cold. It has no soul, no personality. There's nothing wrong with it but I instinctively dislike it. I should add this name to my Uncanny Valley list.

I like the name Helena. But, somehow, Elena and similar-sounding names lose the charm. "EHL-ehn-a" or "eh-LAY-na" both aren't very pleasing pronunciations to me. The quick addition of the "H" makes it sound so much prettier, in my opinion.

I really like Elena but there are so many pronunciations of it! I would automatically pronounce it ehl-EE-na, my landlord's name is spelled Elena and pronounced EHL-e-na, and my personal favourite pronunciation is eh-LAY-na.

So I would go for Elaina to make the pronunciation clear but then it looks too much like Eliana... Therefore, Elaina / Alaina / Elena / Olena are always mns in my combos these days.

It's like a made-up pretty name. Too sleek and perfect, I dislike it.

It’s gorgeous. Not the most interesting name but I wouldn’t be upset if I had to use it. It feels classic to me, forever elegant and beautiful...

That breathy "h" in Helen / Helena is integral to the name's charm, I think, so I find Elena rather lackluster.

I find it more appealing than Ellen or Helena. I think it’s elegant without being overly frilly, but it’s also simple without being plain. A good solid choice all round.

It's ok, but know a few who get frustrated people spell and prounounce it wrong
