I'm surpised no one mentioned that it's a horse coat color. That's the first thing I think of.
Then I think of wild low-growing plants - the three-leaved clover-looking species that grow in forests (Oxalis).
It's basically like Clover, Bay, or Canyon - has a very rustic or "country"/outdoorsy image for me, and seems deliberately evocative.
So, kind of characterish and not really my style. But it's not bad really.
Seems like a gal name to me, but could be either.
