I didn't start liking it until a few years ago, actually. lol I used to think solely of How Stella Got Her Groove Back and that the Stella in question was a fat black woman (bc "groove" lol and the black part wasn't the issue - it was the fat part). But now that I've embraced the meaning "star", I've come to love it! I also like Starla and Starlin.

I like Stella, I used it twice in my childhood: first on a lizard and then a dog. Probably more times than that on dolls & the like.

I like it and I think it's cute, but I always want to stick an 'E' in front of it.

No strong feelings. I did know a couple of older women named Stella when I was a child. So it's hard for me not to see it in that light.

I used to love this name because it was cheesy. A Streetcar Named Desire levels of drama coupled with old-lady doilies. But it's so popular now. And one of my friends named her (beautiful) dog Stella, so now it's quite humdrum to me! I've shifted and now prefer Estelle.
