I've actually been liking this as a name since I found out this is Grace Slick and Paul Kantners dog name, it's just that kind of name tbh. I mainly think of the clay tho, gives it very innocent vibes.

Well, China Plate rhymes with Mate (= Friend), so China is a slang term for 'friend'. Fine for a dog - pretty good for a dog actually - but not for humans.
Of the place names, could be worse. It is a decent choice.
