For some reason I always associate it with trans people. Maybe it had feminine associations (springtime etc, though it's autumn where I live) without being too popular?

I don't think of May as a month name, but with April I can't avoid it. I don't enjoy the name, and I don't know if it's better or worse to have April as a name and a birth date in that month or in one of the other eleven.
