I'm fond of Kajetan even though it's def not popular (or at least, not at all in my circles). It reminds me of names like Cyril and Kaspian and Eliáš.Is Meda a nickname? And is it Méďa like teddybear? I would assume it's a nickname for Michaela or something. I know a Matyáš, I prefer that spelling and pronunciation to Mathias. Luka is nice. Definitely get the Bulgarian vibes from that name choice, otherwise it probably would have been Lukáš.I love Josephine. I think in Czech Josefína is not as elegant.

Meda is an official whole name. Maybe, it is a nickname for Greek Medeia or Czech word for honey (med).Josefina is very elegant name in the Czechia. But a lot of people like shorten this name to Pepina or Pepička. :-( I more prefer Josefinka, Finetta or Sefi.

Kajetan Leopold and Antonín Hugo are fantastic! Wow.I also love Christo and Meda, and Rozarie is COOL. Rudolf and Alfreda - what a pair!So interesting to see how popular Alfred- names are there.

Ooh, great names! I especially love Kajetan Leopold, Ladislava "Lada," Jenovefa, Rozarie, and Alfreda, which is one of my newest obsessions. How is it perceived in the Czech Republic (etc.)?

Kajetán and Ladislava are definitely more old-fashioned and quite unpopular going by how few people were born with those names recently in the CZ. The nickname Lada's immediate association is the folk artist Josef Lada. Generally, names ending with -slav and -slava have fallen out of popularity and it's an older generation thing. I've actually never heard anyone use Jenovefa before, it looks like a truly Czech / Slavic spelling of Genevieve.Rozárie I also haven't heard used before. It reminds me of Růžena, but most of the Růžena's I know are older women.
Actually, Rozálie has become very popular. But I haven't heard it with the "rie" ending.Alfreda has also not been common in the last two decades at least.

A Czech actress Jenovefa Boková boats this name. Jenůfa as a short name is a character from an opera Její pastorkyňa by Leoš Janáček.

Interesting! It looks like Rozárie has charted recently. I wonder why! Thanks for the info :)

I don't even know why. Maybe because we don't like the Czech version of Růžena very much. The diminutive of the Růže would probably not pass through the Czech registries.During the monarchy, Rosarie was once quite popular in old times.
