Callidora
I went to a reading for an author today, and one of her novels features two characters named Callidora. I have a thing for Dora names (Isadora, Theodora, Dorothy) and this one also appeals to me. What do you think of Callidora?

Meh... it's just a smushing to me, like they couldn't decide between Callista and Theodora. Either one of those on their own would be way better, imo.

It’s very frilly, the kind of name I’d imagine a my little pony to have.

Adding -dora to a name does give it some vintage magic. Sometimes wacky magic (like I love Cleodora but I admit that name is out of control). Callidora is fun. The implied meaning is really sweet too. Oh, I see that it's the feminine form of Calidore, I very much like that. Calidore. Yes. This is inspiring me to invent some names by slapping -dora to the end of them.

It's okay...Even though its root elements are legitimately Greek, this still sounds like a name from a chintzy piece of historical fiction.

Very interesting is my first impression. A new take on Callie / Kelly sounding names, the dora ending lends it a vintage feel. I like it. What do you think of Cleodora / Kleodora?

I love it, it sounds so sophisticated to me. It's on my long list

I like it, it’s interesting. I’d never use any -dora names personally though. They all sound really witchy and kind of old to me.

I like it. I prefer Calladora or Caladora but Callidora is nice too.
