Reading the subject line my brain smushed the two of them together into Zonka/ Zonks! hahhaQuite like Zelka but Zona’s rubbing me the wrong way.Zelka Miriam and Zelka Barbro are gorgeous.
I actually really like most of the middle names you’ve paired with Zona (especially Christophine, Bertille and Cyprienne) but just can’t get past Zona itself.

These are great. I have always had a soft spot for Zona because of Zona Gale. There's something so "old-timey intrepid lady-adventurer" about Zona. It's got some serious pluck. I also like Zona as a nickname for Arizona, one of my GPs when it comes to state names. Zelka is really unexpected! I know I'd be delighted to meet one. I especially like Zona Eulalie and Zelka Roxane from your combos.

Neither are particularly appealing. Zelka is harsh sounding and Zona sounds like an area measurement or a virus. And it is actually part of a medical term (zona pellucida). So no to both.

Agree about Zona. Zelka is marginally better but sounds very nicknamey, or as a Zelda with a typo.

Zona means "zone" in Italian.

Also in Russian. And apparently in Spanish. I feel like even without knowing for sure that it means "zone" in any languages it's instinctive to expect it does.

That’s handy to know, thanks.

I like Zona. Zelka is cool, reminds me of a witch that might live in a house in the mountains.

The meanings are a trip. Hostage and girdle. They look/sound neat, though.Zelka Barbro, Zelka Piroska, Zelka Bryony, and Zona Herais are fun.

I have a weakness for Z names for some reason. And I like the look of a Z monogram. So I like both of these. Zelka is actually new to me. It's cute.

I also have a weakness for Z names, because they sound rebel.
